Engobed

Engobed brick slips have a decorative ceramic coating that is applied to natural terracotta. This engobe coating provides the brick slip with a decorative and durable finish, allowing for a wide range of colour options that still retain the traditional clay appearance.

This technique has revolutionized the ways in which terracotta is used as a building material, introducing a vast array of hues from dark and rich to soft and pastel. With the ability to apply coloured engobes to terracotta, there is no limit on creativity in design, making each project unique.

Product Description

Engobed glazed brick slips are traditional bricks that have been coated with a ceramic glaze, which is a thin layer of clay that is applied to the surface of the brick before firing in a kiln. This engobe coating provides the brick with a decorative and durable finish, allowing for a wide range of colour options that still retain the traditional clay appearance.

Engobed bricks can be tinted with different colours to suit specific design requirements, adding texture, depth, and colour to buildings and walls. The engobe coating also provides an added layer of protection against environmental and weather-related damage, making them a long-lasting and popular choice for projects.

From dark colours to pastel ones, coloured engobed terracotta opens the door to all kinds of creativity. Contact us today to find out more about this product.
