What are glazed bricks?





Glazed bricks are standard clay bricks finished with a hard, glossy surface created through a high-temperature glazing process. This finish adds a vibrant colour, with sheen and durability, making glazed bricks ideal for creating striking facades, feature walls, and decorative details in architectural projects.

How are glazed bricks fixed to a wall?





Glazed bricks are installed in much the same way as standard clay bricks, using traditional bricklaying methods. Care must be taken during handling and laying to protect the glazed surface from damage. A suitable mortar is applied, and the bricks are carefully aligned to maintain consistent joints and maximise the architectural impact of the glazed finish.

What mortar should be used to install glazed bricks?





When laying glazed bricks, it is recommended to use a high-quality, colour-consistent mortar that complements the glazed finish. Use a contrasting mortar to highlight the shape of the individual bricks, or a similar colour to the bricks to create a block of colour. Mortars with reduced risk of staining are preferred, as they protect the appearance of the glaze during installation and over time.
