Cornwall Street
Our Cornwall Street project used glazed brick slips on Ash and Lacy’s Natural X system. The use of the vibrant green glazed around the entrance and the cooler grey for the main facade was a great way to modernise the existing building.
Located in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District, our Cornwall Street project represents a bold, sustainable transformation of a tired office block into a premium, future-ready workspace. The new facade introduces a refined palette that plays with texture and light, giving the building a distinctive presence on Cornwall Street.
This redevelopment reimagines the building comprising 139,000 sq ft of modern office space spread across seven floors. With a focus on sustainability and advanced environmentally friendly office features, Cornwall Street is designed to meet the evolving needs of a modern office space.
The building’s striking new facade features a mix of Eucalyptus Twice-Fired Glazed Brick Slips and Gris 2 Engobed Brick Slips. Its carefully composed brickwork layers being both glazed and engobed finishes create a visually rich exterior that shifts in tone with changes in sunlight throughout the day.
Covering approximately 470 square meters and comprising over 28,000 individual units, this cladding system adds a vibrant, contemporary layer that complements the area’s architectural heritage while projecting a bold identity for the future. These carefully integrated design choices demonstrate how 19 Cornwall Street is redefining how a central city office looks.
